Model United Nations (MUN) is an educational simulation of the United Nations’ committees. Each committee has its own topic, and student participants (delegates) simulate the functions of these committees to debate and resolve that topic.
TMUN is a premier Model United Nations conference where over 600 participants from across Canada and beyond gather for a three-day event in the May to simulate UN committees and other global or governmental bodies, engaging in debate, diplomacy, and problem-solving on some of the world’s most pressing issues.
-
You can sign up to attend TMUN by submitting the registration form here. No application is necessary.
-
Anyone can attend TMUN as a delegate so long as they are enrolled in a secondary school and are of high school-age. Typically, this is between grades 7-12 and ages 12-19. There are no other requirements or conditions to attend the conference.
International and out-of-province delegates are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
-
No MUN experience is required to attend TMUN, and delegates of all skill levels are welcome to attend. TMUN’s committee program offers a variety of committees suitable for delegates of all experience levels from beginner to advanced delegates. We thus welcome all to attend the conference, whether you will be just beginning your MUN journey or power-delegating in crisis committees.
-
By default, delegates will be exclusively roomed with delegates from their delegation. This means you will only be roomed with delegates from your school. If you’re an independent delegate, you’ll only be roomed with other independent delegates.
Rooming is automatically booked and guaranteed through TMUN when you complete the delegate registration form.
Special requests such as lower occupancy rooming and extra room nights can also be requested through TMUN.
School delegations will be contacted to confirm rooming arrangements. Independent delegates can request rooming arrangements here.
More information about our rooming policy can be found on our registration page here.
-
If you’re attending TMUN with your school delegation, rooming arrangements—such as who your roommates are—will be chosen by your school delegation’s primary contact. Rooming requests should be submitted to your delegation’s primary contact.
If you’re attending TMUN as an independent delegate, you can request roommates and other rooming arrangements using the independent delegate rooming form here.
-
Delegates from two different delegations may room together only with the explicit consent of both delegation’s primary contact. Usually this is done if two schools want to attend the conference together or if an independent delegate would like to room with friends from another school.
-
TMUN welcomes participants from across the globe, and we have no restrictions on participation from outside of Ontario. The registration process for out-of-province or international delegates to attend the conference is the exact same as for local delegates. To register, visit our registration page here and complete the delegate registration form.
-
In the interest of accessibility, we place no restrictions on how students can attend the conference. Students may attend the conference either as independent delegates or with their school delegation regardless of whether their school has a Model UN program or club.

Upon arrival at the Sheraton Hotel, school chaperones and independent delegates should proceed to the Secretariat Desk, located in the Grand Ballroom Foyer, to sign in and collect their conference materials.
If you are attending with a school, only your head delegate or teacher should check in at the Secretariat Desk to retrieve your delegation’s materials. Independent delegates should check in individually.
Please note that guest room keys will not be distributed during the initial check-in period. The hotel will begin releasing keys gradually throughout the evening, typically between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Therefore, all delegates should arrive dressed in western business attire and be ready to attend their first committee sessions upon arrival.

Students attending TMUN may register as either overnight delegates or day delegates. Overnight delegates will stay for two nights at the Sheraton Hotel over the course of the three-day conference, while day delegates will arrive each morning and depart in the evening after the day’s events conclude.
Aside from hotel accommodations, both overnight and day delegates enjoy access to the same full conference programming, including all committees, ceremonies, and socials. The day delegate registration fee is adjusted to reflect the exclusion of hotel lodging. This option is also available to sponsor teachers and chaperones who prefer to return home with their delegation each evening.
