UNODC
United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) was inaugurated in 1997 and is headquartered in Vienna, Austria. For over 20 years, the UNODC has worked to reduce global organized crime, corruption, terrorism, and drug use. By promoting sustainable wellbeing and peace, the UNODC has committed itself to achieving global justice, security, and health. Since the scale of the global issues at stake is much too great for lone nations to address, the UNODC cultivates international cooperation and offers practical assistance through its global network of field offices.
Now focusing primarily on the UN Sustainable Development Agenda, the UNODC has introduced campaigns against drug use and production, human trafficking, and even HIV/AIDS. It has established international treaties addressing corruption and organized crime and operates under five key categories: (1) transnational organized crime, (2) corruption, (3) criminal justice systems, (4) the world drug problem, and (5) terrorism.
The UNODC is an intermediate committee that offers an experience for all delegates with interest.

Ivy Lin— Director
A junior at Crofton House School, Ivy is beyond proud to serve as the Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime committee at CAIMUN 2025. Upon attending her first conference in Grade 9, she began to fall for the exhilarating atmosphere of Model UN—the debate within the committee, the buzz of meeting new people, and, surprisingly, even the intricately tedious process of writing papers. Over the past two years, throughout her multitude of experiences both within and outside of MUN, she has formed new relationships, cultivated a honed ability to approach subjects methodically, and gained invaluable insights from seasoned experts. Outside of MUN, Ivy can be found rowing (and occasionally flipping) on Fraser River, continuously refreshing Ticketmaster for updated concert prices, and baking dozens and dozens of blueberry muffins. Ivy looks forward to meeting all of her delegates at the upcoming iteration of CAIMUN!
Vanessa Chen — Chair
A rising Junior at Crofton House School, Vanessa is delighted to serve as the Chair of UNODC at CAIMUN 2025! Ever since tripping twice on her way up to the podium at her very first conference, she has been captivated by the world of Model UN, igniting her ardour for international affairs. Whether it be climbing up 20 staircases after a midnight crisis or witnessing North and South Korea uniting and then divorcing shortly after, MUN has granted Vanessa cherished friendships and memories. Outside the committee room, she can be found violently sneezing, chugging yet another Peach Vibe Celsius, or capturing moments on her hot pink digital camera. Vanessa looks forward to welcoming all delegates for a weekend of fervent debate!
Daniel Feng — Assistant Director
As a current Junior at Southpointe Academy, Daniel Feng is proud to serve as the Assistant Director for UNODC for CAIMUN 2025. Since walking into his first conference in Grade 8, repeatedly trying and bumbling through his improvised speeches, Daniel has found a great passion for Model United Nations. Now, just three years later, Daniel has gained much from MUN. From public speaking skills to making life-long memories to late nights working on position and resolution papers and the heavy reliance on caffeine, there is no shortage of cherished experiences that MUN has provided for Daniel. Now, he hopes to do the same for future delegates on their unique MUN journeys. Outside of committee rooms, he can be found taking a deep dive into various fictional sci-fi media and content, attempting to read and explain classical literature to his peers and those willing to listen, and frequently illustrating and analyzing myths and legends of ancient civilizations. Daniel looks forward to creating a rich and educational experience at CAIMUN 2025.
