WHO
World Health Organization
Established in 1948 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the World Health Organization (WHO) operates as an international health authority and seeks to provide a better, healthier future for people all across the globe. The WHO, a member of the United Nations Development Group, works closely with the United Nations to assist its Member States with their national policies and health objectives. Furthermore, there is frequent collaboration and communication between the WHO and the United Nations to ensure that health is a focus within UN intergovernmental bodies, as well as provide leadership in health-specific humanitarian endeavours.
Functioning under the broad mandate to promote people’s obtainment of the highest quality of health, the WHO’s current initiatives comprise of six leadership priorities: (1) achieving universal health coverage, (2) developing global health regulations, (3) increasing access to medical products, (4) addressing factors that contribute to health, such as social, economic and environmental issues, (5) responding to non-communicable diseases and (6) promoting public health.
WHO is a beginner committee that offers the traditional Model UN experience for all delegates alike.

Selina Ma — Director
Currently a Grade 11 student at Dover Bay Secondary, Selina is honored to serve as the Director for the World Health Organization at CAIMUN 2025. Her journey began four years ago when she stumbled into a WHO committee room and discovered a vibrant community of like-minded individuals dedicated to addressing global health challenges. Since then, Selina has been deeply engaged in the dynamic and intellectually stimulating world of Model UN. She values the intense debates with fellow delegates, the countless friendships she has cultivated, and the gratification of seeing her ideas materialize into impactful resolutions. Outside the conference, Selina finds tranquillity in the breathtaking sunsets of Nanaimo and the camaraderie of late-night conversations with friends. At CAIMUN 2025, she eagerly anticipates a weekend filled with groundbreaking solutions, memorable experiences, and abundant laughter.
Sin Li — Chair
Currently in his junior year at Semiahmoo Secondary, Sin Li first became involved in Model United Nations through his participation in his school’s debate club. His first conference in Grade eight, where he represented Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, made him fall in love with the constant debate, discussion, and socialization that is unique to MUN. Although his historical knowledge is not extensive, Sin is particularly drawn to the complexities of international politics that can be seen within MUN committees. Beyond his passion for Model United Nations, Sin loves to listen to music, follow esports and Formula 1, and occasionally dabble in gaming himself. He is always open to friendly conversations with delegates, especially over café recommendations, and is ecstatic to serve as Chair for the World Health Organization at CAIMUN 2025!
Manarap Popli — Assistant Director
Currently entering his Grade 11 year at Mount Douglas Secondary School, Manarap is honoured and thrilled to serve as the Assistant Director of the World Health Organization at CAIMUN 2025. Stepping foot inside CAIMUN 2023, his first ever MUN conference as a 9th grader, he was intrigued and terrified upon finding out what happened when he raised a placard. Ever since the day he found out that raising a placard not only gives you a chance to speak but also a chance to express so many other emotions, he has fallen in love with Model UN and its amazing, table-banging energy. Outside the committee room, Manarap can be found smashing badminton birdies at great speeds, getting lost on long calls with friends, and, after all that, unfortunately remembering that he has an assignment due tomorrow. Manarap can not wait for the weekend full of fruitful debates and cramped elevators.
